The Dark Academy on Korriban

"I'm... better now, thank you Weaver, Biggs, Wedge," she said, looking to each as she spoke their names. Of course, it didn't heal her body much but her soul was feeling a bit more put together after that display. Emboldened even.

"I didn't do it alone," she offered as almost sage wisdom. Something to be inspired by perhaps.

"As for the privacy, I will ask that you do, as you raised a proper point. We don't want to get in the way of the medical staff as they treat the other patients. If your duties allow it. Perhaps later when it isn't so busy and fresh after the conflict you may return."

"It's alright, soldier," she relaxed now that the bloody fool was gone."Your concern is understandable and appriciated. And good job standing up like that."

She wanted to blast out a tirade, but that was not what was needed now. Kristal needed her here, to provide her with some stability. Shaisha had never considered herself anyone's rock, but she would be that now for her friend.

Darth Baras actually smiles and says, “I have received word that things go well on Yavin IV. Good this pleases me, and I have not had much to be pleased about as of late, my young apprentice.”

“The last remnants of the Purge have been dealt with but a new matter has come to my attention, and some minor issues that I will saddle Layne with to handle. I will need your focus on the larger picture. You will report to me once your training is done on Dromund Kaas, I have many agents to introduce you to. You will be handling my affairs in Kaas City and the Dromud Kaas system in general.”

“We are at a critical moment in our Empire and I will need you focused and ready to manage my spy networks.”

He finishes with, “Are you prepared, Apprentice.”

He nodded, "More than ever before My Master."

“This Queen of the massassi, your assessment of her?” Baras asks, moving on the next business.

"She is possessed by a powerful Force Spirit from Korriban. I contracted her spirit in the wilds before passing her on to Anya Veers in hope that she would prove to be of more use than a dim-witted bimbo of an ensign. Then last night she was transferred to the queen with the assistance of Jadus' new apprentice. She appears to have some familial connection with Layne. She has a fierce individualistic streak. I am in the process of convincing her to being subsumed in your sphere of influence, but I have been countered by her connection with Layne; who feels that I am attempting to use this woman only for my own purposes. Layne does not have the wit to see that she defies your goals when she acts against her own colleagues." Sylvain replies in a report-like voice.

"The Queen is not beyond reason, and wishes to avoid becoming a colony of the Empire. Instead she wishes to find a path that leads to full integration. I have contacted the diplomats who are being sent to negotiate the deal and will advise that Yavin be placed directly under your control due to the threat of Republic aggression in the area. Yavin could be yours if you so desire it. I merely need to assure the Queen that her basic desire will remain fulfilled..."

“You heard her, get back to work you two. Of course my lord, we shall return to our duties,” Weaver replies and then directs Biggs and Wedge out who give smiles and nods.

“Darth Vengean wants her, see to it that she is brought into our sphere. Yavin is of minor concern to me. I want everything on this apprentice to Darth Jadus,” he says in reply.

He nodded, "Her name is Moyr Ahaya. She is a native of Ryloth and a Twi'lek. A resourceful and cunning Sith in the making. I have developed a rapport with her, and intend on inviting her to travel with me to Dromund Kaas. What else would you like to know my master?"

Baras replies, "Everything."

"She received a powerful artifact from the Queen upon aiding her transference last night. She is deceptive, elusive, and a wild radical. The slavery she and her family experienced as a child has shaped her mind into a fairly strong self-preservation streak. She resists any sort of exterior constraints, preferring to follow a course that she feels that she has set for herself. She does not offer trust or support easily, however I have gained that trust. Beyond that there are no known ties that she values beside one friend that she has made here in the academy. Although initial reports after the battle suggest that individual has either gone AWOL, or is dead and cannot be found." He replied. "I assume you do not care for her sexual habits and preferences, so I will leave that part of the 'everything' out for the time being."

"That will suffice, keep her close," he says calmly.

"Yes, my master." He replied.

"How else may I be of service?"

“I have nothing else my Apprentice, you have done well. Continue and the rewards will be great,” he says with a nod.

Sylvain bows, "Thank you my master."

Then looks up, "If I may ask one request my master, Hurn Tremmel has been influential in the success of the campaign here on Yavin, and was coerced into attempting to kill me in the forest by Rona Thaine after she became aware that I held information that would result in your wrath being turned upon her. I attempted to leverage that information into continued service to your goals, but it appears that she no longer cares for even the appearance of service to you. If I may offer an opinion my Lord. It has most likely known to you that Rona Thaine has been disloyal to you and has been leaking information for quite some time in order to obtain a different posting in Dromund Kaas. But she in this mater and Layne Hoshin in the matter with the Queen have unwittingly defied your commands and set out to undermine what you are trying to achieve. I am not one who holds personal grudges or attempts to exact my own vengeance over the greater good. But if I might humbly suggest that both of them could use a reminder that your will is not to be taken lightly, it would serve to make them both better servants... and set an example for all of your followers that betrayal against your intent is not permissible."

He then paused, "And for his commendable service I recommend that Hurn Tremmel be reassigned to a position that a skilled and capable Sith warrior could be of use in rather than squander his talents under his father's over-protective eye."

“I will consider this, your honesty is appreciated. I will be in touch,” Baras closes the line.

Sylvain nodded his thanks and farewell, then took a couple steps back into a nearby chair and sat.

What to do now... Step one is complete... time to prepare for Steps 4 and 5...

Back inside, Kristal sat there with Shaisha. Having beckoned her even closer as they left, reaching out with her hand and only settling down again when Shaisha took it. When her team left she caught a glance of Harad. It left her gaze lingering on his cybernetic arm for a moment, and then two. Lost in thought for a second. Part of her wanted to go over there and talk to him but given her condition she couldn't manage it.

With the team gone she rested even a bit more, looking up to Shaisha she managed a weak smile.

"Busy day..."

"Busy day," she agreed and took a seat by Kristal's side. "Take your time and rest. You did well, and you earned it." Her voice was tired, but calm and soft for Kristal. And like Kristal had been before, Shaisha was now the calm and stoic presence that would stand by her side.

Looking for Shaisha's hand she took it, held it, and squeezed. Never one for such needs of reassurance in the past, but this was different. It kept her mind off of the other hand that felt like it was still there. Kept her from going a little crazy. Kristal's grip was still a bit weak, after all it wasn't just the loss of an arm but certainly that was the most noticeable wound.

"That Jedi beat me.." she said after a moment of just resting silence. "Something in my technique must be flawed."

"We all lose from time to time," she began in a reassuring tone, "but you're alive. I bet that Jedi is not."

Shaisha's hand was warm as she returned the squeeze. "We've learned what we can as aspirants now. Soon, we'll learn at the feet of our masters, and Darth Marr will teach you to overcome this loss."

"They aren't, but not by my hand," she said, even if she felt that much was obvious.

"That is unless I have fallen out of his favor..." Kristal looked down to the elbow of her left arm, it had ended there. For the rest of her arm she hadn't moved it, nor would she move her left arm for a while. Bandages made that a bit difficult but in truth she merely didn't want to.

"I doubt it. And you know why?"

She leaned closer to Kristal. "Because Marr is a soldier, and soldiers know that there will be battles you cannot win, and wounds you sometimes can't walk away from. I know you, and I know you will grow from this loss and become more powerful than you already are. He probably believes the same."

Looking to Shaisha as she spoke she offered a little nod at the end.

"I do not know if that's optimism or makes sense," she admitted with a light, weak laugh. Turning away from what was unsure yet. "Thank you.. for before. I didn't think I could manage as I did, but seeing that I had to. Your help was reassuring."

"I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner," she sighed. "I talked to him this morning and he said he'd give you space and time, but it seems he couldn't wait more than that..."
