There is some conjecture that Disney (via Lucasfilm) are pulling enough strings to have the SWTOR races ever so slowly erased from the modern canon . . .

I don't believe it. If they were doing that then SWTOR would have been pulled I think. Miraluka are probably destined for the Mystic career book (currently predicted to be the 6th and final book for the F&D line.)

In Rebels there was an episode around Malachor, so I don't think TOR stuff is being erased really. It's just far from the focus at the moment.

That... sounds very weird, tbh. So I agree with not believing it.

That means they'd have to eliminate races like Togruta, Twi'lek, and Miralian (just to name a few), races that are already represented in stuff like the official cartoons. As well as Chiss.

So yeah, that sounds kind of dumb.

Of course it would be the last book of the last line.

Anything that appeared in the 7 films and Rebels is considered 'modern canon' now. And even though he's allegedly no longer in control of anything at all we see the reach of good ol' George in the latest career book.

Pantorans - the blue aliens that George and his children actually portrayed in Revenge of the Sith, appear in the Endless Vigil, the Shadow Career book.

They break the established formula on starting races. They get a characteristic at 3 and one at 1, a skill and the ability to ignore setback dice due to cold. (effectively exactly the same as a Twi'Lek except for cold instead of heat) . . . but have +10 xp more than any other equivalent race. It's been fun watching the FFG forum rage about it being the most broken race of all.

Have there been any hints about when the warrior book is likely to be in production?

Yeah, I'll never get up in arms about unbalanced races, tbh. I will always play the race out of a reason for storytelling, rather than "zomg brokenly good!".

And GMs can always say "no Pantorans".

In my personal game I play in we are at over 700 xp and I'm super good at Cunning and terrible at everything else... So yeah I don't worry about balance too much.

1st or 2nd quarter next year.

These are only predictions but the Statistician on the FFG forums has been quite good about getting things right. She basically predicted the No Disintegrations book announcement date and was out by a single day. Release dates of already announced stuff she pretty much has predicted accurately for 2 years now. It's only a prediction, but it's a pretty good one to go by.

My party are at ~500xp and still the Soldier does not have a single 'talky' skill. He suffered greatly in an adventure where I took all their weapons off them. He ended up imprisoned for stealing a steak knife from a restaurant.

Balance is good sometimes.

Moyr still has big loopholes in dicepools but she has some fancy perks and is fairly competent in a few things. Not a heavy combat character though.
