The Dark Academy on Korriban

Sylvain worked efficiently at packing his things for the last time. He had come to Korriban a simpler and softer man than he was now. All the finest upbringing hadn't prepared him for what he had faced, and though his trials were riddled with failures, he eventually triumphed over them all.

He packed the last of his belongings into his travel bags and let out a sigh of exhaustion. While he felt emotionally drained, and far less supported than he ever had, he knew that this was no time for rest or reflection. What had happened had happened, it was time to move on and prioritize shaping what would happen from now.

He pulled up his datapad and began deleting pictures... pictures of friends and times past, that no longer held any meaning to him.

Then there was a tap at his door...

Assuming he opens the door, his mother was in her business attire, not that she worked in the conventional sense but managing the affairs of the Torsin family is a full time job. She smiles in that reserved but motherly way and says, “My lord, may I come in.”

He nodded his head and smiled warmly, "Mother you are too kind to come and see me. I was planning on returning this evening."

His mother smiles and walks into the room and says, “The accommodations are rather sparse. I am sure Darth Baras will provide you something better or we can find you a suitable apartment on Dromund Kaas, consider it a graduation gift.”

He smiled, "I have been well-taken care of I assure you mother."

He then walked closer to her and wrapped his arms around her in a warm embrace, "It is nice to finally see you again in person. And to do so with pride in my accomplishments."

She returns the embrace, “I knew you would succeed you have never let me down, my son. You have come a long way from the boy who peed on me when I would change you. Now you’re a powerful Sith. You’re father wanted this more than anything for you.”

“I know he is happy to see that we have survived the trials against us.”

He chuckled, "You know how to make your son feel proud and terribly embarrassed at the same time. A skill every good mother should possess in spades I guess."

He then stood up straight, "Have you spoken with Baras yet? He had said he wanted to see you if you came."

“I have, he seems impressed with your progress and has assured me that you will be vital to the war effort. He is putting a great deal of responsibility in your hands, I am sure you will not fail him,” she says warmly.

“I’ll have to watch the news to see your adventures. Just be safe out there, the Jedi do horrible things to the Sith.”

"I will, mother. I assure you I am able to deal with whatever comes my way." He said.

"How did you handle meeting the man who is responsible for father's death? How are you doing?" He asked with concern.

“When it comes to matters of family and preserving the family, I put such things above my own petty needs for vengeance. For now we suffer, in time we shall have our moment,” she says calmly.

He nodded, "I am still unsure why father was removed... but I have a fairly solid lead. I will keep you appraised of any development."

He then smiled, "The one positive thing about my new assignment is that I will be close to home for now, and can assist in house matters when necessary."

She smiles, “Good, it will be nice to have you close by, I know that sounds quite selfish.”

He smiled, "I can deal with selfish for now. It is nice to be wanted."

She smiles and begins the more mundane chit-chat and helping Sylvain pack his things for travel.
