The Dark Academy on Korriban

Although her question was addressed to the bartender, anyone nearby could clearly hear it.

"Has Nunki or the Togruta been seen since we returned from Yavin?"

"Training with Jaina Von, and Lord Savas' sense of humour." He thoughts turned to fun times with Gerry and he smiled. He wasn't going to mention it, but it was something from here that he would always take with him. "Nothing that I can't do without."

He swirled the beer around in his glass and sipped some more. It felt like his time here would be coming to end soon, and he wondered if that was a sign the Terror Star had just arrived. His force powers were beginning to expand, although he still had much to work on.



That got the big sith's attention. He frowned and looked over towards Grenda. "Now that you come to mention it, no. Don't recall seeing their names on the casualty report either."

"The last melee was a bit chaotic but I don't remember seeing them since then."

She tapped her finger on her glass making a strange sound as the sucker tips attached and detached.

"Or maybe even before then."

"Huh, that's odd. I saw Baesal at the base camp. She limped in looking like hell a while I after I did." He turned to look at Kristal. "Those two weren't involved in the special mission Jaina Von gave you, were they?"

The Rodian answered that for her.

"No that was Kristal, Layne and myself."

"I see... Did anyone see them the day of the Temple fight then?" This was one more thing to investigate when he returned to Yavin IV. He remembered Thy talking about 'Secret Jedi business' and wondered...

"It vill depend on her mood to zay nothing of the council of zhe Dark-light. She iz possessed of a rare connection to zhe Umbră-Ușoară, but it iz a mixed blezzing. Zhe vill of zhe Dark-light is not az v'one vould beliewe as ve perceiwe zhe vorld, it can mean action iz taken zhat may zeem counter to reason or sanity. But in exchange ve are blessed vith itz knowledge. It iz a burden I am beginning to underztand."

As Grenda so graciously offered the answer on behalf of Kristal, she instead took another drink from her glass. This was her... third? Fourth? It didn't really matter. Given her own beliefs of Nunki at least, she could see if that girl merely ran. Then again, there was proof of a Republic presence on Yavin IV. No, not without the proper reports delivered would she care to make that jump or allow it to be said that they ran. If they did the Massassi may as well have gotten to them for all she cared.

"They are either uninjured, or dead," she offered with that coolness. Almost cold in a sense. Though she spoke to Nunki she could never really claim to knowing the girl well. A bit too comfortable for where she was though.

"I never once saw them enter the medical tent in the last three days."

Moyr did not involve herself in speculation, chatting with Rum and sipping Order #66 as if she hadn't heard anything from the exchange. The authorities had a version, she knew that from the brief talk they had had with her on the way back from Yavin, it just needed to trickle down.

He peaked his eyebrows a bit, "Oh? And how have you learned this lesson?"

"Az v'one might expect, vhen zhe Dark-light began to zpeak to me in a powverful voice. It showz me pathz to valk, und zhen I must chooze vich among zhem I desire, but it iz a careful road to trawel."

Sylvain nodded, "Indeed. You'll have to keep me informed of your experiences. I find them most interesting." He said with a polite smile.

"I have zeen zhouzandz of futures, each v'one different," she sipped her drink and smirked. "Ends of ewery permutation, und zhat lead to ewery end. Vhat iz it you vish to be your end?"

He smiled, "That's a big question Jun-tsu. There are many futures that I could be comfortable with... but ones that make the Empire strong enough to destroy all of its enemies, foreign and domestic... that might be my personal favorite."

"Und vhere does zhat path lie? Do you know zhat you valk zhe right v'one now?"

"For the part that is known to me, yes. I do walk the path to a better Empire." He said with conviction.

"It vill be interesting to vatch. To attain v'one goal you have to give up another. I have been slowly understanding zhat too. Vhen you walk v'one path you forsake zhe otherz. Zhere may be sacrifices you're not prepared to make along zhe vay to your shining Empire."

"Then that suggests they fell on Yavin or we left them behind."

She shrugged and took another slug of her drink.

"Either way there is nothing I can do about it. In the morning I am bound for Toydaria to meet Darth Vilirus."

He nodded, "Such is the way of the force. There must be sacrifices along the way, but whatever they may be, if they make us collectively stronger, they must be pursued."

"Your dedication to zhe Empire iz admirable, but I vonder, vhere are you in all of zhis. It iz all vell und good to zee zhe Empire rize, but v'one has to vonder if you zee yourzelf in zuch a place. Vhat if zhe path you zeek, findz you dead at zhe feet of another? Vhat if your life stands betveen zhe Empire und greatness?"

"My life and all that I have I dedicate to the Empire. If it is my destiny to rule from above, I will make that so. If it is my destiny to serve, I will make it so. Whatever role will assure our victory, I am willing to accept." He said with resolve, "I foresee myself in a role of leadership, but all in the season that it is appropriate."

"I pray it iz az you have forezeen, but zhe future iz a fickle zhing. Sith or no, now, ve are now at zhe vhimz of a grand scheme begun zhouzands of years ago. Ve vill zee who learns to ride zhe vheel und who iz crushed beneath it. Or.....who getz out of itz vay."

He smiled, "I suppose we will."

He holds up a glass, "To not getting squished."

"Na zdravje," she toasted, raising her own glass. "It meanz 'for health' in zhe basic tongue. On Korriz, it iz a blessing to v'one's continued health.'"

She took a slightly larger sip than before. "You may need all zhe blessingz you can get."

He smiled and nodded, "I think I will. I've never been one to turn down something useful."

Then gesturing back to the bar, "If you'll excuse me. I need to get back to my companions. I'll be in contact with you after I leave Korriban."
