The Dark Academy on Korriban

The hallway has debris across the ground and what look like ancient droids long past being functional. Covered in dust and sand, missing limbs and other crucial parts; they don’t look like modern Imperial droids, the design is different.

One of the droids comes to life and slashes at him causing superficial damage with a rusting but still effective sword. He sees two more come to life right behind the active droid and they advance on the aspirant.

OOC: Suffer 1 strain, Roll Vigilance for initiative Difficulty is Simple, no Difficulty dice.

Zeno barely avoids the droid's attack and moves into his combat stance as he prepares to put the things down.

Vigilance: 3 successes

The war droids advance on the aspirant.

OOC: Initiative List is Zeno than the War Droids who are at engaged ranged in the hallway.

Sith War Droids - Initiative - Cool: 2eA 0 successes, 3 advantage

Zeno draws out his sword, and steps in quickly with a fast strike that fails to hit, but continues the motions in front of him to keep the droids at bay.

The droids advance working in concert together, they are not able to harm the Sith but one of them deftly disarms him sending his weapon clattering to the ground.

OOC: Use the Triumph to cause Zeno to drop his weapon, the Advantage goes to waste.

The sith-blood picks his sword from the ground in a deft maneuver and as he comes up with it performs a quick backflip while raking the nearest droid with it.

The damage to the droid is significant but it continues the advance. Sparks fly as the droids chop at the sith-blood with their rusting blades. One finds purchase drawing a neat line of blood, what they lacked in skill they made up for in numbers.

Aim maneuver used and a total of 5 wounds done. The Droids suffered 3 wounds from Zeno's strike.

Just as the blade is about to make contact, Zeno sweeps his sword in the way and sends it in a wide arc away from him before spinning quickly and bringing his own sword around in a slash across the center of the droid once more.

The parry catches the droid off guard and that moment of indecision as it calculated another attack was its end. The slash cracked its computing core and it collapsed at his feet. The other two advanced heedless of the danger.

Another overhead strike on the sith-blood aspirant.

Aim maneuver, the damage done is 1 after soak to Zeno, one droid died and now down to 2 droids for a total of 6 damage done to the droids.

Again, the young aspirant sweeps the blade away, and moves to strike, this time in a singular move that sends him to the side of the droid. The blade meets metal and digs into the next droid he was targeting.

The powerful strike destroyed another droid leaving only the one left as it struck wildly at the sith-blood. It struck true but the wild attack caused the droid to lose balance and collapse to the floor prone!

Aim used and did a total of 3 wounds to Zeno minus the soak, due to threat the droid falls Prone. Zeno gains a boost die to his attack.

The blade of the droid was moved out of the way effortlessly, and the sith-blood watches as the wielder follows it down to the ground. He then took aim at the mechanical enemy and pressed his advantage. Unfortunately the droid's floundering on the floor caused Zeno to miss the thing.

The droid scrambled to its feet and then tried to skewer the Sith swinging the rusted blade wildly. The droid is no master swordsman like the sith-blood.

Zeno had had enough of the damned droids attacking him and felt his rage surge. The clumsy attack that had been aimed at him was easily sidestepped, at which point he used his sword to cleave into the annoyance with extreme prejudice.

The droid is neatly cut in two, a moment passes before it slides into two hunks of scrap. Beyond the droid is a circular room with a raised dais. There seems to be light filtering in from somewhere and on the dais is a figure sitting with crossed legs holding something in its lap.

Whatever is there it is not moving and it is not alive.

OOC: Combat is over.

Zeno looks down at the droids and considers them for a moment.

If they were put here by Lord Hazzan it's possible there's something useful in their memory.

Before moving into the next room he begins sorting through the wreckage to see if he can recover their memory cores.

OOC: Mechanics roll, Hard difficulty or Computers, same difficulty.

He gets into the scrap and does what he can to find something useful. But he knows he did a number on them.

Mechanics: 1 success, 3 threat

The core is damaged but he could definitely get data from it, when he isn’t in a tomb in the middle of nowhere. He can hear the footsteps of Spindral approaching and the old man said, “I see you took care of the droids. I wondered if they were still active, guess so.”

Spindral raised a hand lifted the droids and then compacted them together with a singular crunch. The droids were turned into crumpled ball of dura-steel and parts.

He sighed heavily and then coughed before saying, “I thought they might kill you.”

The junk ball crashed into the floor with a resounding clamor.

Spindral - Move Force Roll: 4eF 3 Light Side, 2 Dark Side

"That they did not. Were you hoping they would or did you simply think that little of my skill," Zeno says as he looks at the man, while putting the cores away in some pockets of his utility belt.

“You are either worthy of being Sith or you are not. My thoughts do not matter as it is only you can that free yourself from your chains,” Spindral replied calmly.

“Perhaps you did die? It would not be the first time I chatted with a ghost.”

"Just curious if there was something in the cave that you would have wanted but didn't have the patience to deal with the droids over," Zeno says with a shrug. "Fooling an idiot into doing your fighting for you is a strategy that has merit. Even though I suspect that you would have had no problem with the droids whatsoever," he says as he looks to the crumpled things on the floor.

He then moves into the chamber figuring that if Spindral wanted to attack him he would have done so already. A being that had been traversing the tombs of Korriban for 200 years was likely beyond is ability to kill anyway. Why worry over that now?

He looks at what is likely a mummified body or statue and whatever it was holding.

Spindral shrugged and said, “Perhaps I was just waiting for you to play your part for Korriban.”

The figure is desiccated but was perhaps human once. In its lap is a black red object with many sides and force radiates off it.

“All things happen as they should,” Spindral added.

Zeno did not recognize what the object was but he could sense that there was power in it.

"As always," he says, with a nod at Spindral's words. "What have we here?"

He approached it and looked it over for a few seconds before taking it in hand.

Picking up the object causes the seated figure to decay into dust leaving only tattered robes and bone bits. Spindral grinned wildly and said, “A holocron? All the way out here, but who created it?”

“That is your burden now, Zeno.”
