The Dark Academy on Korriban

"What the hell do you mean, you can't find the wound? It's right fucking there you stupid rustbucket!"

The medical droid bleeped and blooped an apology, all the while providing helpful tips on how to take care of lightsaber injuries.

"No, don't tell me that shit. Heal me!"

A bit sleepy from being contacted right about when he is going to bed, Remmington makes his way over to the infirmary.

He watches the interaction between Layne and the droid for a moment.

"Woah! What the heck happened Layne? You played around with the wrong end of a lightsaber?" He looks at her for a moment.

She shot him a glare. then kicked the droid a little.

"I punched the overseer."

"I suppose that is one way to make an impression." Remmington remarks casually as he starts looking through the medical supplies.

"So why exactly did you punch the overseer for?"

"Because she's a bitch," Layne said.

Duh? Obviously?

"Well next time you may want to refrain at least until you have a weapon to fight her with as well. Unless you are some sort of masochist." Remmington comes back and looks at her for a moment.

"Hmm... these are in the way." He literally tears off her top. Letting the tattered clothing fall to the floor for a droid to clean up. Setting the medicine kit down beside him he opens it and looks for some bandages among other things.

"Are you for fucking real? I don't have any other clothes!"

Oh she was pissed now. She didn't even care that she was half naked or whatever.

"Your clothes are already cut apart from a lightsaber and have blood all over them. Just get a spare top from the Academy and stop being a baby about it."

He takes out some disinfectant spray. "Now stay still. This may sting a little. You will probably get some scarring too." He looks at her for a moment. "Not that I expect you to care about that."

Oh right, it had been that academy issued clothing. Not her proper clothing. If he'd torn that... well.

"Whatever, get it over with."

Remmington nods and continues his work. He uses what he can from what he remembers from the medical kit and bandages her up without too much issue. He made no attempts to handle her gently.

"There we go. How does it feel acolyte Hoshin?" He did a surprisingly good job. She may recover faster than expected.

"Like some asshole is touching me," she said, before moving about to try and test how much was healed.

Huh, she hardly felt a thing.

"What'd you do? Why'd the droids not figure it out?"

"I just applied some hints someone told me about medicine with my knowledge about mechanics. It is actually the 1st time I tried an application of the Mechanics of Life on a person. I am glad that it was a success."

Remmington starts packing things away. "Droids can only do what they are programmed to do. A human can figure out things that they don't know."

"Well that's fucking annoying."

She traced whatever scar was left behind. "I hate this planet."

"This is not exactly your tropical paradise vacation." Remmington nods in agreement as he puts the medical kit away.

"So how did you get here in the 1st place? At least you got safely to the Academy... scratch that, at least you got here in one piece." He corrects himself.

"Same as you," she helpfully clarified.

"On a spaceship."

"I am aware of the but before that I mean." Remmington clarifies.

"I killed a sith," she said rather casually, and once again, helpfully keeping things vague. Wouldn't do to just blurt *everything* out after all.

"Must've annoyed them, cause now I'm here."

Remmington nods as he considers this. "That is a good qualification to get into this Academy." Though he figured it was something like this already.

"Was the Sith anyone of note?" He asks.

"Don't know," she replied, "don't care."

Well, the truth was she did care; but this way she sounded more badass and she didn't want to give that sack of shit the satisfaction from beyond the grave anyway. Especially not now that she knew ghosts were a real thing.

"Good riddance."

Remmington nods. "Probably not one of any real note. Which is too bad for them. Still that is pretty impressive to take on a trained Sith. Still best not push your luck too far here. I can't always come to patch you up you know."

He chuckles a bit with that jab.

"Whatever," she rolled her eyes. "It was worth it just to prove a point. I'm not going to be like that idiot clique, all talk. Nothing but empty platitudes. Pretending like they know shit but get all wide-eyed the moment they see real power. For your sake, I hope you're different."

Remmington merely smirks and shakes his head. "Don't expect anything great from me. I'm nothing special."

There was something akin to a "tsk" sound. Obvious disapproval.

"Sucks to be you then."

Remmington shrugs. "There are people who have it worse than I. At least I can say I have no illusions of grandeur."

"Pretentious assholes are annoying. But so are people who can't even believe in themselves."

That almost sounded like...

...no wait, she threw in a glare for good measure.

Wouldn't want people to think she was soft, or anything.
