He smiles then, "A challenge, then. Tell me two true things and one false thing about yourself. I will see if I can tell which one is the lie. Things I would not already know, since that would make it far too easy."

"Hm, alright, I can accept such a challenge," coyly she places a finger to her plump lips.

"Let's see..."

He considers her thoughtfully as she says each thing, looking closely for anything that might give away the lie.

Perhaps it's the fact they're both in towels, or perhaps she's better than he expected, but the clear answer isn't coming to his mind as it usually does.

Guess, Khalim.

"You never snuck into the headquarters of Imperial Intelligence."

The tone of his voice is just as gamely as hers, revealing nothing whether he gets it right or wrong.

Her face is, for a moment, dead-serious. It looks like she's about to tell him he guessed wrong.

Then, she sighs. "Guess you're better than I thought... hm, a win for you then," she smiles playfully.

A minute pause is the only indication of surprise when she tells him he guessed right, before he quickly recovers his composure.

"You're better than many I've come across, I will give you that for certain."

He considers her then, "You have quite a prestigious lineage, it seems, and I do not believe it is known by many since this is the first I've heard of it. Do you keep it hidden for any particular reason?"

"Such faint praise," she smirks back at him with a glint in her eyes.

"I'd prefer to earn to say that when I've proven myself worthy to be Sith. Just because my line is prestigious doesn't mean I can just coast on that the entire way."

He nods in response. "Fair enough."

He then grins, and asks, "Faint praise? Should I instead say: you are among the best liars I have ever encountered? I don't feel that that's really the sort of thing you say to a nice girl you met in the refresher, after all. Not a particularly fine compliment."

Another chuckle.

"Careful, you might develop a sense of humor there. Or maybe it's being contagious and I've infected you with it."

He raises an eyebrow with a bit of amusement apparent on his face.

"Do I really seem like I have no sense of humor?"

He pauses contemplatively.

"I assure you, I do."

Another pause.

"I'm pretty sure it's in here somewhere, at least."

He mimes checking his pockets.

"...now where did I put it...? Ah, there it is!"

He then looks Shaisha straight in the eyes and asks, "What do you call a Sith who refuses to fight...?"

A russet-red hand covers her mouth as she supresses a laugh. "Alright, alright... I guess you're not the grumpy-pants you gave me the impression of being first time around,"

She gives a few seconds of silence as she pondered the riddle. "A dead one?"

He shakes his head. "I'm afraid not."

He then lifts his hand, flips it limply at the wrist, and says, with a heavy lisp, "A Sithy."

If there was any embarrassment at saying such a terrible, shitty joke, he doesn't let it show, and his face is completely straight through the entire delivery of the punch line.

Shaisha gave up on holding back a laugh, as her hands instead hugged her sides while she bent over laughing.

"Oh... that's a horrible joke. Shame on you!"

He chuckles in response.

"Yes, well, now you can no longer doubt that I do maintain a sense of humor underneath it all. It's just much better to keep people guessing."

"I feel like there should be some sort of punishement for such bad jokes..." she took a deep breath to regain her composure.

"Guess we all put on our facades when venturing out, huh? Your mask is the stoic, mean-looking Sith lord-to-be."

He shrugs, "It's worked thus far. Even if you don't know something, having the discipline to not show it means that people will think you more of a threat than you really are. Not having to fight in the first place is far easier than having to kill someone for impertinence, after all."

He smiles somewhat, "What's your mask, then?"

"That, will remain my secret... at least until you figure it out," she smiles in return. "You've already managed to pry a few of my secrets today, after all."

"I might lose my charm if I were to lose all my secrets."

He chuckles then, "I highly doubt you're in any danger of that."

"I also doubt that you have any shortage of secrets."

He glimpses at her ear then.

"Also? You have some cleanser stuck behind your ear still."

"Hm?" she puts her hands up to her ears to check for the cleanser she missed.

Khalim was totally lying, and just did what was basically "your shoe's untied". Probably to see what'd happen.

Realising there was nothing there when her hands returned moist from water, but with no sign of soap or anything else on them, the girl sticks her tongue out at Khalim.

"Alright, point taken. You're a funny guy."

He grins at her, "As long as the lesson has been learned."

"Honestly, I'm glad we had this chat this morning. I suspect we'll get along well in the coming weeks. It's always good to know who potential allies might be. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask."

"Likewise, Khal," she grinned in return. "Always nice to make new alliances here in this place. Looking forward to seeing your form in the orientation today too... any particular lightsaber form you've taken a liking to?"

"I've been studying the defensive style of the Niman technique. And what of you? Skilled or unskilled with the saber?"

He doesn't make comment of the "Khal", probably out of politeness.

"I consider myself proficient enough. Been studying the Shien Style for some time. Hardly a master, but I doubt most of the acolytes here are a master of any style at this point," she grins.

He smiles amusedly at her, "Yes, I suspect if anyone were masters of their style, they would be well beyond aspirant. Perhaps sometime you'd like to spar?"

He glimpses at her towel, and his own, "And perhaps sometime in more appropriate garments for doing so."
