The Dark Academy on Korriban

"Apparently there was a slave-wife of an ancient Dark Jedi, who occupied my body as I tried to access the force... She was cast out... but I still feel if there is some presence deep in the recesses of my mind... You don't know of anybody who experienced such an encounter?"

“Well that is serious, as I understand it such a possession means you have a connection either through sometimes blood or the Force… it is usually difficult though and limited to the weak willed similar to how the Force can influence the weak willed with ease. Did you open yourself up, that would be an open invitation to a powerful force spirit of the dark side,” she responded with concern.

He smiled, "I was instructed to try and listen to the planet speak by a desert sage... I called upon the force and sought to listen to the voices that were around me, but apparently was overcome. I lost control of myself until the sage removed the spirit by the force."

"But it's like I said... it feels as if something is lurking within the recesses of my mind." He shook his head a bit, "You don't have any solution for this?"

Thy was thoughtful and said, “If we were near Coruscant I would direct you to the Jedi Temple there, they have vast stores of knowledge on the Force. I think the Sith probably have similar knowledge, I guess.”

“This is strange territory for me, but it is your mind and your body, so you have the upper hand. It takes a great deal of conditioning and time to fully control another being. Your best bet is to focus inwardly and expel it through force of will and if unable then speak with someone better versed in force ghosts and expelling control.”

“Sleep can be dangerous, as your defenses are often lower.”

Sylvain nodded and pondered what she said for a few moments. "Need help... What the sage did for me was perhaps what the limits of the Dark Side are known to be... I'll have to ask someone of considerable knowledge if there is something else that can be done."

Then paused before asking, "Do you know of any repositories of information from your fellow Knights here on Korriban? Surely there was information that your superiors wished to have cataloged and kept in case of this potential danger... If there is a way to accomplish my ends, I have no qualms in its source."

“I would need access to Imperial databases to cross reference the data I have. They could have been looted already,” she said with a tinge of sadness.

“There were quite a few research vessels around Korriban, so it’s possible.”

"I could probably manage that. What is it exactly that you need?"

He pulled out his holopad and attached it to the terminal in his room.

"I can get access from here."

“Connect that thingy-majig to this thingy right here, and I should be able to access the database and get what I need,” she instructed with her vast knowledge.

Sylvain did as instructed. "You seem to have the same terminology that I do. I'm glad we're on the same page."

He watched as the hologram begun to do her work.

“Well I am glad we are both engineering geniuses,” she said with a laugh.

“Okay, got the data, wow Imperial propaganda is pretty… colorful. Okay cross-referencing. Looks like a surface facility was not picked up, it was pretty remote and not terribly important but it did store backups from the research ships. She brings up a globe and pinpoints it to the deep wastes, just nearly on the other side of the planet. It is a mountainous region.

“So there, Research Station Theta.”

"What do the records say about its surroundings? Environmental or ecological hazards I assume are fairly common." He asked.

“Apparently it is 11.3 kilometers up near the peak of an unnamed mountain in the range, I expect conditions are well below freezing… probably even ice capped all year round,” she replied.

“Expect frigid conditions, I have never been there personally.”

"Cold huh... Just spent my money on a sword and now I need a jacket." He chuckled.

"Not my lucky day today. You got any ideas to help with the cold?"

“Wear layers?” she responded.

He laughed at that, "Very informative Thy. I wouldn't have thought of that."

"Any information on what was being researched by you guys out there?"

“Another danger is a thinner atmosphere, probably want something to deal with that too,” she added.

She said, “I don’t and I didn’t even know it was there till I checked. Just listed as a backup lab.”

He nodded, "I could get my hands on a respirator easy enough..."

He thought for a moment, "And what of security at the station? What should I expect? Any chance you're helpful in getting past some sticky spots in security?"

“If… and this is a big if, the codes have not changed in twenty-eight years then yeah I could access quite a few systems,” she replied with confidence.

"Alright then. You up for an adventure tomorrow young Jedi?" Sylvain asked with a smile.

“Of course but I hope you are not expecting me to defend us, I was one of the best, but this hologram can’t wield a lightsaber,” she said with a tinge of sadness.

"I have a blade now. And I'm thinking of calling on my friend. She's a good soul and even better muscle... think you may like her more than some others here."

“A good soul, I like her already,” she said with a chuckle.

He chuckled, "I'd never tell her, but she's pretty much the only one I can depend on going forward... I'd like to keep her close if at all possible. I'm having mom look into possibly having Kristal be my wife someday."

He shook his head, "Don't know why I'm telling you this. Probably the fact that I got knocked in the head today broke something loose in there."

He then laughed, "Get ready for the cold Thy, Kristal can be cooler than that abandoned station to those she doesn't trust."

“A wife?” she seemed surprised.

“I never really thought about marriage… just not a Jedi concern. What’s Kristal like?”
