The Dark Academy on Korriban

Baesal sat at the back of the shuttle like all of the low-rep scum the latrine walls behind her. This served her well, however, since it allowed her to study the dark knowledge without having someone peek over her shoulder.

Despite last evening's showing, they were still throwing Layne at the back of the bus. Well, imploring, more like. Wouldn't want to make her angry after all; she got acknowledged by the Wrath of the Emperor, after all! Filthy slave! Oh geeze she's looking at us! Nooo!

Whatever! Layne didn't care where she sat. At least she had a seat.

Oh look, it's that alien from before?

Layne stared at her, like she was surprised the girl had survived too. Or like she was surprised they both had.

Baesal was focused on the dark text but Laynes stare was not subtle enough for her to miss it. She rose her head and recognised the human that stabbed a Sith.

"Oh! Hello there, your name is Layne yes?"

"Yes," came the verbose answer.

She'd already forgotten the alien's name. But then, so much had happened the past couple of days, who could blame her?

"What're you reading?"

"I am reviewing some notes. I'm planning to craft a hilt for someone so I want to get the steps clear in my mind" she answered closing the pad

Not exacly a lie...

"A hilt?"

That did sound potentially interesting.

"Yup!" She said with a smile but lowering her voice for the next sentences

"We might attempt to craft a lightsaber hilt soon... don't know when, but soon"

She grinned

"I hope we will be the firsts to do so...and rub it in the noble's faces"

Anger.

That's the emotion she felt.

This was all the more reason to get a fucking move on and find that lightsaber out there.

"Fuck those guys. I sure showed them yesterday. Wouldn't hurt to have someone else do it too."

Baesal's eyes sparked

"Oooh, what happened?"

She was oblivious to the banquet's happenings since she had been busy elsewhere.

"I busted into that fancy party of theirs and stole the show. Got praised for it by some super important dude too. Pretty sure everyone hated me for it."

Baesal chuckled

"Oh...Oh how much I would have wanted to see..."

She readjusted herself

"Well done!"

"You ever hear of something called the Wrath of the Emperor?"

She nodded

"Real Big guy I hear. Kills people for the Empereur. Right?"

Then her eyes drifted to an interesting objectif: Layne's broken blade

"Yeah. He said I was cool."

Well, that wasn't exactly what he'd said; but that was the gist of it in her mind. If she noticed Baesal watching her blade, she didn't mention it. It was just a blade. Of dark power. Nothing special. Not like the blade she was going to get today. If everything went well.

"He did? That is some nice praise!"

She scratched her chin changing the subject

"I'm sorry...is that an ancient sith blade?"

She looked down towards where she'd secured the blade.

"Yes. It's broken."

"Could I see it?" Her eyes glitter with curiosité

"Did you try to reforge it?"

She wasn't entirely sure she wanted to share her find with this alien; but saying no would only fuel the curiosity further. So she took it out to show it to her.

"I'm not a smith," she said.

Besides, the blade has power as it is.

Baesal takes a good look at the blade

''I could give it a try eventually'' she said squinting

''We could either rework the blade to make it a more effective short sword or dagger...Bringing it back like it once was would require to melt the blade and reforge it...could be done and the guard, pommel and handle woud be saved''

"Reforging sounds like a bad idea."

She was sure that might lessen its power, or destroy it altogether.

Baesal raised an eyebrow

''Why? Do you prefer to keep it as a relic?''

She waved a hand

''Does not matter inthe end...but keeping it as is will only wither it down.''

"It's survived sand and wind for thousands of years."

''Not in one piece it seems...furthermore sand and wind don't put stress on the blade like actual combat.''

She stretched her neck a little

''But it is your relic blade, you do what you think best. Should you want to repair or mod it, then think of about me''

"Thanks, I guess. You fix stuff?"

''Indeed I do, I'm also good at crafting them and I am a decent slicer as well.''
