"Useful," she said. "Especially since you're not some noble twat."

''I don't think they even know how to wipe themselves without someone helping them.'' she said in a hushed tone

"Don't be quiet. Be bold. Speak up. You're only giving them what they want if you don't."

She gave a sigh

''That may work for you Layne, but I am not one to fight straight up...not for the moment at least.''

"It isn't about fighting. It's about showing strength. About showing no fear."

''I am not fearful, just calculating. Anyways my strength is up there'' she pointed to her head

''I will make it known...but it take time and planning.''

"If you say so," she said, sounding unconvinced. But then, Layne was the simple sort. She didn't really do the whole 'planning' thing.

She smiled and reopened her pad, typing something.

''Aside from you getting buddy-buddy with the most feared man in the empire, how is your stay?''

"It's growing on me," she said.

"It's still shit. But at least some people do what I say. Same for you?"

She took some time thinking about it

''Not sure...I'm ambivalent. I enjoy the possibilities but so many people are either close minded or willing to be drones.''

''But at least I met some nice people...well as nice as this place permits''
