The Dark Academy on Korriban

"Hmmm, seems the tuk'ata remain. It looks like you may get to murder after all, Mr. Deathwright."

Khalim activates his saber, the low glow illuminating the area.

Zeno continues forward, with one hand on his goggles occasionally flipping over to infrared for a second before going back to night vision. "They should really make these things so they can show both heat and low light at the same time."

Khalim chuckles, following behind the sith-blooded. "It would make them slightly more useful, wouldn't it? Still, even having to manually switch, it's better than a glowrod."

With the thermal he can see behind a wall a large moving mass easily three to four times the size of the rest of the tuk’ata. It seems to pace back and forth with other tuk’ata following in its wake.

The light from the saber illuminates the twisted halls, and it shows blood stains and bones.

"Well shit," he says. "Thermal." He then points to the giant thing.

Khalim clicks his visor over to thermal as well, noticing the large tuk'ata.

"Indeed. Shit. I suspect we've just found Death's Shadow..."

"Possibly. But let's not get our hopes up just yet," his tone sounds... disturbingly pleased with such an event.

"Well, what tactics could we use to make our chances of success higher? Perhaps some of this wreckage could be used to our advantage."

Khalim starts looking around for any chokepoints they may be able to lure the tuk'ata through in order to fight fewer at once, and thus negate their numerical advantage.

OOC: Give me a Leadership roll, Average difficulty, I will spend a Destiny to Upgrade.

Khalim looks around for a strategically beneficial position to fight the tuk'ata, but doesn't seem to find one.

"Damn ship is too open."

"It doesn't look ideal," Zeno agrees. "This could be a rough fight. Stick close and near a wall so they can't get us from every angle I guess."

Open and once he looks around he can see that the team is virtually surrounded. There is a slam against a wall and then another and a third that causes much of the floor to shake and it falls revealing a shadowed creature. It stands some 6 meters at the haunches as it growls.

It is a huge tuk’ata with a large scar across the jaw and blackened eyes. The fur is black and gray as it pads slowly forward.

He nods, "Seems like that's the best shot we'll have. If there become too many, fall back and we'll see if we can find a tighter corridor further back."

Zeno growls at the thing as he lowers into a crouch next to Khalim, ready to move with him.

Khalim shifts into a defensive stance, lifting his saber readily.

With a shout, an ancient language fills the chamber, echoing off the walls.

"Sulig tave valia iv nuyak zarchas ss\'horunas negu nun, nu xuontai tu kia kioska kalv, tuk'ata! Isar vi nu valia, ax buti ardytijas!"

The tuk’ata hold a moment as the ancient tongue is uttered. Even Death’s Shadow is given pause but it seems to embolden the massive predator, the rest hiding do hold though, this was a kill for the Alpha and his chosen.

The thing was terrifying to behold. A real dark side beast. Who knew how long it had been alive being bolstered by Korriban.

Death’s Shadow crouches as it considers which morel to eat first. Two groups of three tuk’ata move with the monstrous predator… the hunt was on.

OOC: Xevine and Zeno suffer a setback die to all rolls this encounter but also get a Bonus die to any further possible fear effects. Khalim must increase the difficulty of all rolls in this encounter. Roll Cool at Simple difficulty.

Zeno prepares to slice or flee, as the group decides. But he doubts their ability to effectively flee from a pack of tuk'ata.

Khalim readies himself for combat against the beast he's heard tales about.

Even the Mandalorians seemed concerned about this beast...and here we are.

But at least he wouldn't be the last to act.
