The Dark Academy on Korriban

For all the SWTOR'ing that has been and will be done.

So it looks like The Shadowlands will be the US Server rally point for us. No word, as of writing, if there will be a Euro rally point or if Eurofriends will come over to the Dark Side on the far end of the Atlantic.

I think there's enough of us on Shadowlands to support the formation of a guild for, if nothing else, XP bonuses or whatever. If you're all amenable to the idea, we should form one. I propose Magical Space Samurai as a guild name.

As much as I enjoy how easily my Smuggler guns down mobs, I really should try to finish my Juggernaut's story. @_@

I forget the equivalents, but Force Sweep/Cyclone Slah. Juggernaut is Force Smash/ Something slash if I recall. Great mob clear, especially with being so uber leveled.

Reached 65 on my Sith Juggernaut just as she finished Chapter 1, moving on to Operation: Unlock Twileks.

The problem with my Smuggler is threefold: the story is just so meh so far, I actively dislike Corso, a channeled AoE damage cast like Sweeping Shots is great for mowing down mobs - it is also making the game assembly line boring.

The last part wouldn't nearly be an issue were it not for the first two bits.

I jjst want my Twilek Bounty Hunter and my imouto, Mako.

Nobody likes Corso Riggs.

Downside to Fem Smuggler is that he's the only Companion Romance.

Upside to Fem Smuggler is that you get other amazing one night options.

Yeah... Corso is one of the worse starting Companions. Doubly-so as female Smugglers because he is the ONLY Romance option.

For Flirt options, you get Darmas, which... can be fun, but is nothing compared to a certain Sith lady you meet on Tatooine.

HOWEVER, Dark Side Male Smuggler got the *best* lines in the game. The Prologue is pretty meh, but upon meeting Risha the story takes an upturn in Chapter 1, and Chapter 3 is pretty fun.

Never got super far in the smuggler.

All I know is, as fem Smugg, you can do some hilariously cruel things to the guy who stole your ship. I'm still laughing thinking about it.

I've played through all the classes. Multiple times. Light, Dark, Male, Female. Had to try it all.

Smuggler is... the story is pretty shite. It's nothing interesting. BUT, I consider it like a cheesy action/heist flick that has rather "meh" writing and lame budget, but with a lead actor that just blows it out of the water. Because the Smuggler will always deliver the witty one-liners, and do some pretty funny stuff.

The Bounty Hunter is pretty much in the same boat; crappy script carried through by hilarious scenes and a support-cast that gives 120% out of that script.

I really liked the supporting cast for BH which is why I can't wait to get back to it.

I just want to ditch Corso already and have never gotten super far into Smuggler but I'm almost certain whoever else I pick up has to be better than this guy.

As far as my Juggernaut goes, I've been enjoying all their companions. Vette is great, I'm going Light Side so she and Jaessa approve of me being a big damn hero.

Quinn is an excellent straight man to play off of and always good for FOR THE EMPIRE moments.

Nar Shaadda - Bowdaar. Here, have your token Wookie-companion to go with your Smuggler package! Bowdaar is basically a very good and loyal lap-dog... with strong arms. He'll probably fetch your slippers if you ask him nicely.

End of Chapter 1 - Risha. Hands down my favorite Smuggler companion, and how she is with you from the start of Chapter 1 makes the transition to Companion-status very smooth and interesting, because you already have a dynamic there. She's sassy, smart and intelligent. I loved Romancing her with my Evil Smuggler.

Balmorra - Akaavi. Also Romancable, in case you didn't like the genius of Risha. Akaavi is rather robotic, repetitive, and an angry attack dog that will bite the ear off of anyone who looks funnily at her man (you).

Hoth - Guss. No intelligence, no skill, no charms, just... how did this guy not explode himself when using a microwave? It's another "why is this guy in my crew"-Companion.


My opinion on them.

The lack of romanceables doesn't bother me for FemSmuggler. I always just assumed that she, like Kirk and the Enterprise or Malcolm Reynolds and the Serenity, was married to her ship.

Hence the murderous path of revenge undertaken to reclaim it in the first place.

No one will ever be able to take the ship's place in her heart~

Sure it wasn't a crash on your side (internet dc), because hubby and I've had the game up and running fine the past hours.

I can't say for sure it will be back, but it shouldn't be gone unless it happened after you had pressed Apply.

Mods and saber are fine. I thought it was server side as nothing else crashed this side . . . might have been the comp having a slight fit. No harm done though.

Have they fixed the server lag issues? I really enjoyed SWTOR, but there was a period where it just seemed unplayable so I stopped and didn't go back.

Shadowlands has given me no issues despite me connecting to an east coast server as a west coast player.

Only place I have lag issues is on the Fleet Flagship . . . especially the fie thousand people who stand around the Cargo Hold and shout meaningless abuse about Trump and Brexit in chat . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It was PoK Bank in EQ, the entrance of Orgrimmar or Stormwind in WoW, in TOR it's the Cargo Hold . . . . the idiots always have somewhere to gather and spew offensive crap . . . /sigh

There are a couple things that I do not miss from WoW. Delivery and poop quests.

I just love all the ego stroking that SWTOR gives you. Save a <insert a species/planet/galaxy> level of quests.
