I just assumed it meant total of successfully completed paths (i.e. 2 possible successes per person for completing both selected paths). Given we have somewhere between 15-18 students (including NPCs) that would put our total possible "successes" around 30-36.

By that metric we have 15 successes.

As the Twi'Lek pointed out, it says including the Fear Roll, so by your metric that should be 3 possible successes per participant.

In that case, taking into account the Triumphs that I missed in my first tally that gives us an additional 12 points so...

Actually . . . aren't all lightsabers unique? Each is supposed to be individually made and I don't recall any mass production of them ever happening in canon or legends.

So, looking over the lightsaber construction rules, is our one free mod to an attachment, just the "basic mod" for the illium crystal (if we use that) Or do we get the basic mod and one for free?

I think I might be happier with getting to activate criticals with just one advantage; the only crystal in the book that does that is the Krayt Dragon Pearl (WHICH I WANT, AND I WANT IT NOW)

Should be a mod on the crystal or to the hilt.

You get to pick one of the mod options for a basic ilum crystal and add that as a free mod (so no 100 credits or mechanics roll), assuming you made a handle rather than buying one pre-made.

So for an Ilum crystal you get to begin with one of: +1 damage, item quality (Vicious) +1, or Reduce Critical rating by 1.

Or for a curved hilt you could add the defensive +1 property (I think that's the only affordable hilt option in the book with a mod option [1000 credits]).

The hilt doesn't have mods. It has attachments. The attachments have mods. The crystal is an attachment that can have mods. A curved hilt is an attachment that can have mods. The superior quality is an attachment that has no mods available and so on and so forth.

Yah that, we will get it worked out, don't sweat it right now.
