The Dark Academy on Korriban

Moyr strode into the mess without too much concern about the menu. Guess why. She sat somewhere for some ordinary water intake called drinking. She tried not to think about this not being coffee. Leaning sexily on the table, she looked through the window and contemplated the planetary life.

She wasn't the only one in need of energy that came in paste form. Jo'ren was a big guy, so unfortunately he had to consume a lot of paste. Rather than waiting for a droid he went up and collected his own, two plates, plus a jug of water.

He didn't know the twi'lek, but they had to meet some time, so he put the tray down on the table she was at and sat.

"Starting to wish I'd bought some spices up on the space station."

"I think there's a food market at the spaceport."

She replied without looking at him, though her lekku vibrated slightly.

"A few days more on paste and I will go on plunderous rampage there."

"Heh." 'Plunderous rampage', nice. The big sith began shoveling some of the paste into his mouth, gulping it down without waiting for the taste. There wasn't any.

"Maybe I'll join you. Cheaper than the sixes I'm sure."

"Very well." She said after a sidelong glance at the large Sith. "We can do that one day."

She slowly turned, fingers on the table, her posterior acting as the elegant axis of the turn, thr lekku floatingly following.

"Moyr Ahaya."

The sith had another mouthful as she did her little turn. He wasn't really into aliens but she was a good-looking one for sure.

"Jo'ren Rath. Don't remember meeting you before. That's a nice 'saber you've got there."

"I was making myself busy in advancing my emergent Sithness. You probably don't know how occupying that can be, do you?"

She chuckled with a tease.

"Your lightsabre probably deserves a compliment too."

"Heh. Yeah my sithness emerges all over. But I train hard, don't be mistaken about that." He continued to eat between pauses.

"You have to work extra hard. Just to get a shed of respect.". He sipped some water. "Am I right?"

Jo'ren dropped a hand to pat his lightsaber. "It probably does. Honestly though, it feels good to be ahead of the curve. We were the first, right?"

"Not entirely. I don't scramble for leftovers of recognition. I play to win, and to do so I have to circumvent the rules that work against me. It is hard and it is risky, but it yields more than the proverbial paste."

She caressed the hilt with a sweet grin.

"Ahead of other truebloods and Imperial scions for sure. Of them, you seem to be the most successful."

She titled her head curiously.

"Then you're on track to graduating as a Sith.". He finished the paste and chewed a little before washing the taste away.

"Yeah, three days in and made our own weapons. Good showing I'd say." He shrugged at the comment but smiled. "I guess so. Must be my winning personality."

She nodded, a little smile still there.

"Sith Code tells it all. The rest is just smoke and mirrors. The exams, the regulations, the requirements, the restrictions, everything is designed to obscure fundamentals for the weak to get entangled in them and prevent them from grasping power. For those who see past those, it's just something to banish and something to break."

She bit her lip lightly.

"Hence I won't ask you about your next step, or what backing you have. But I will be watching you closely. For my own sake I want to be well-aware where the power is."

Jo'en pondered that and eventually nodded his head. He pointed vaguely at her with his hydrofork*. "That would be wise."

He finished the glass of water and looked out of the window. "Officially, given my position, I don't like aliens, because 'reasons'." He rolled his eyes. "In reality, for a Sith, 'liking' is irrelevant. Our chains are broken. You seem...useful, Aspirant Ahaya. I'm sure our paths will cross again at some point. After graduation if not before."


*Apparently in the Star Wars Universe you use 'Hydro' to indicate that something is better than a crappy real-world equivalent

"And If I find a use for you for a mutually beneficial endeavour, should I call?"

She raised her elegant, tattooed-on brow.

He raised an eyebrow in return, it made his handsome red face look quite roguish.

"For a mutually beneficial endeavor, I think you should. The worst I'll do is say no." He shrugged. "There's power to be had here, on Korriban. Finding it and then surviving are the tricks. So I'm open to it."

Power to be had? No kidding.

"Good. Then let's exchange commlink channels."

She took a rich sip of water.

"Sure." He pulled out his commlink and they exchanged numbers.

"Give me a call if you find anything that livens up the paste." He grinned and went to pour himself another glass of water.
