"What? You just said you had to refrain from revealing anything without the express approval of the master!"

“The Maker was VERY particular about who heard his poetry, but he’s dead now,” the droid replies.

''This droid dates back probably to the Great Hyperspace War'' she tells Layne ''...it might be more efficient to single out specific subjects.''

She goes sit in her work chair

''What is it you hope to learn?''

"No, this droid is from the time of Ajunta Pall," she said casually, then sighed.

"I wanted to know if Lord Oshin left behind any other artifacts or treasures besides this blade."

“The Maker had fabulous wealth, he was the recipient of much wealth from many worlds,” the droid then starts listing off a never ending list of treasures most of which is probably gone now.

“One plate made on Theodi with aurum filigree… onyx statue… four ceremonial axes from the Ghority’ni Tribes on Ziost…” the droid continues with the long list.

''Lord Oshin? Ajunta Pall? You have a talent for finding great old things Layne.'' Baesal cocked her head

Sounds like her familiy name

''How about asking about the location you found him in or the seat of power of this Lord Oshin or his tomb if those places are not the same.''

"You know, that's a good idea."

She turned back to the droid.

"Droid, are there any locations on Korriban, beside the tomb of Hania, where some of these treasures are stored?"

The droid replies, “The Grand Palace and the Black Temple.”

The droid spits out coordinates.

''I'll check those coordinates...although they might be long gone.''

Beasal also consults Zash's notes...to be sure. Is there still something there?

The Palace is gone, there is no record of it but the Black Temple is known as the Find #6754, the location was lightly explored but never fully cataloged.

''The Palace seems to be gone but the Black Temple is on record...it seems to only have been slightly catalogued. It is a strech but it is possible that something of Lord Oshin might be found there.''

She said typing

"Alright, and where exactly is it? Close to the academy, or?"

The location is in the deep wilds in what may have been a sea at one time but is now just a salty expanse with raised plateaus. The Black Temple is on one of these plateaus.

The droid says, “Shall I begin preparing your tomb, master?”

"Is that your way of saying I won't survive whatever traps are there?"

Tsk

"List whatever dangers there that you're aware of, droid. A map of wherever the traps are located would be especially helpful."

“Why exactly is every ruin supposed to be a trap filled nightmare?” Lord Oshin says to Layne.

Baesal feels a ripple in the force, there is darkness near.

“Of course master, the main floor is free of any traps that I am aware but the Maker was very particular about getting just the right security for the inner sanctum and the Black Vault. They were quite lethal and fatal, many slaves died in their construction,” the droid replies as it relays the knowledge of the security system as it was when built.

Well, isn't it?

She glanced at Oshin with a furrow of her brow. All stealthily like, so that maybe Baesal wouldn't notice it was odd. Of course, she still didn't know if just thinking thoughts allowed Oshin to hear her, or if she actually had to speak out loud.

And then the droid answered.

"I knew it," she said, another quick glance towards Oshin before turning back to the droid.

"Describe the nature of the traps"

Baesal feel the ripple and looks around for the source but sees nothing

The droid spills information on the traps.

"Well then," she said, slightly triumphant... then considering present company and the near future for a bit...

"Seeing how you've heard all that, I suppose I should let you tag along. But I get first pick, and the bigger share of whatever we want."

''Mmmh''

She scratched her chin

''First pick is fair...but would you be willing to negociate the spoils once we get there?''

''Also, should we bring more? I know of someone who is very good with sneaking and disabling traps. She might prove a boon''

"That depends on what we find," she said to the issue of negotiation. "Besides, you're already getting a droid out of it, aren't you?"

Frankly, she didn't care too much so long as she got the best deal out of it. Of course, given the droid's personality, Baesal might be inclined to reneg on that arrangement; it was a very peculiar droid, after all.

Then on the issue of more company; "Bringing more lessens the spoils for us," she said. "But it might be a good idea..."

((assuming the number of traps and what not listed by the droid is like; 'a fucktonne' instead of 'walk in the park'))

''Maybe less spoils or maybe more so: I'd wager there was more loot there then Lord Oshin's...having another expert and mayhaps a meat-sheild might prove a boon in accessing the other vaults.''

She types

''I tought of asking Moyr Ahaya: I worked with her before and she is both good at what she does and reliable"

"Do you trust her?"

Well, ultimately whether the alien did or not wasn't really supremely relevant; seeing as that told Layne nothing about the trustworthiness of either of them. But hey, it was the sort of thing one had to ask.
