"Get taken by an even more beautiful woman like yourself?" He asked with a smile.

Chuckling he then added, "It's more of a statistical thing. There's been an unusual number of deaths and disappearances of aspirants and apprentices that travel with Zash. It would seem that she's either not capable or willing to protect her assistants, or is using them in some predatory way... And I have no personal care for her philosophy..." He shrugged, "It's a few things I guess."

"That is... a bit disturbing," Shaisha took a small mouthful of paste. Blegh.

"I heard her last apprentice disappeared, but I didn't know it was a reoccuring thing."

Sylvain nodded, "That's what I thought too."

Then shrugged, "But if there is a pattern. I'd rather not be another statistic."

Then turned to Kristal, "So what have you been up to Kris?@

Kristal soldiered through a bit of her sustenance, not about to give it the title of "meal." With a small smile she shook her head at the flattery and settled in to listen to his actual thoughts.

With the conversation suddenly turned to her, she stole the moment to finish her... bite.

"I've been assisting Captain Harad. There are dangers here his men aren't suited for, and I now am."

"What sort of dangers? Surely something else than kor-slugs and tuk'atas?" Shaisha asked, taking a sip of water.

Sylvain too tilted his eyebrows in interest.

"Merely that, just a great many of them. It was not often I found time between lessons," she said, as they all knew very well. "What little I had I wished to see some more of Captain Harad's men survive this planet."

There was the thought, idea, that maybe she had only postponed their deaths a day or two in some cases. Still... that was enough. Never did her tone seem to imply it was a great deed or undertaking. It was, after all, merely what she could do. At the end of the day, she likely earned a lot more than she even truly realized.

"Always the noble warrior." Sylvain says with a smile.

"I'll mention it to my dad when I get the chance. I'm sure he'll want to give your dad a medal for the way he raised his daughter." He said chuckling.

"I haven't talked to the Captain yet. I'll have to find the time. From what I hear he's a good man."

"He's an alright guy," Shaisha added, "seems like an old stoic guy on the outside, but he's really just a big softie on the inside. Still, he's done good service. Was part of the forces that reclaimed Korriban, and personally shot down a jedi."

"At least, that's what he said. Don't know if it was true or mere soldier-bravado."

"Sounds interesting... and certainly wouldn't hurt to have him on our side." He smiled. "Getting out of trouble is much easier if you have friends like him."

"Captain Harad isn't a man of mere bravado," Kristal said, seemingly thoughtful on the words, "If he said it I doubt it would be false. Regardless, it matters little. He cares for his men, that is a good quality regardless."

Sylvain nodded. "That does speak volumes for his character."

"It does. Good to know you're on his good side then, Kris," Shai finished her intake of sustenance. And secretly pondered if kor-slugs or tuk'ata's tasted better.

"You guys got any plans in the next days?"

Sylvain shook his head, "Nothing specific. I'd like some face time with Lord Baras now... since Zash is off the table."

"More time to train with the lightsaber if I can manage it," Kris gave as her answer, which was a bit more than what the words implied. After all, it's not really training if the other thing isn't trying to kill you.
