The Dark Academy on Korriban

Korriz wasn't something she had heard much about growing up, but then again, there were many planets controlled by the Sith. If the woman had Sith-blood in her, she couldn't see it.

"How you holding up?" she asked Zeno, noticing him joining them.

He still had some visible wound that were mended.

"Good enough for another fight. Hoping for some violence tomorrow," he smiles at that.

"I confess it has been a long time zince I have been able to use mein craft for blutshed. Zhen again avay from mein homevorld, it haz taken avay zome of mein powver. I hawe had to owercome it zlowly. Zoon I vill be able to vork mein zorcery az it vas truly meant to be vielded. But not vithout practice."

"I'm sure tomorrow will provide yet another opportunity for violence," Shaisha smirked to her fellow aspirant who had fought beside her.

"Your power is fuelled by Korriz?" she asked curiously. Perhaps it was something similar to what Spindral had said about Korriban.

"I zuppose, in part, but no. Vhat I meant vas House Farro draws togezher for ritualz und huntz. Vell, zome of zhem," she looked to Zeno.

"Ve feed off v'one another, und zhe more of uz zhat are gazhered zhe more powverful ve become. Being zeparated from mein familiy haz forced me to grow ztronger. It iz gutt, but it iz difficult. Vith mein sister I could have, from vhere I stand, healed every vound in zhis infirmary, or siphoned zhe life from zhem entirely in an instant."

"For now, zho, I am....limited."

"That is something I'd love to see someday," the sith-blood says with a smirk. "Draining the life from every person in a room? That sounds like a spectacular sight."

"Zurly you both have traditions, rites, und vays from your own Houses." She looked between the two others, then slightly abashed. "Zo, not to be forthright, it now occurs to me zhat I know not vhen you vere adopted by House Torsin, Lady Vraysk. You may not had zhe chance to learn zhe vays of your true lineage."

"Not quite so mystical in nature among the Deathwrights, but we have a few. Dagger tattoos for ship-to-ship combat kills and the triennial tournament are the most well known," he says with a nod.

"My father arranged for me to have tutors approved by him when I was sent to live with the Torsins," she said simply, though didn't feel the need to divulge too much.

"Triennial tournament?"

"Yes. Every three years those not on mission elsewhere gather for a grand tournament that takes place over 4 days. Hundreds of entries. Open only to Deathwrights. About one in ten dies during the tournament. Getting one of the top three spots is one of the ways one qualifies to join the family's dedicated capital defense squadron. It's the only time that a Deathwright would ever kill another. Most of the scions of the house over our history has one it at least once, usually multiple times. The next in line for leadership after my mother won the last one." He seems proud and pleased as he explains.

"It is shown over closed circuit with statistics and play by play for military commanders. It's a good way to be noticed and picked up for a new command if you do well. The best performers tend to get picked up as a squadron commander or as a personal starfighter escort to important Sith."

"Ser Deathwright, tell me, for I am not certain, how much of your House is so blessed by zhe Dark Side? V'one knows zhe Sith long ago earned its ongoing grace, but zhe vay you spoke in other converzations, it zeemed zhat very few trained to be true Sith. But perhaps I vas miss understanding."

"It is not common among the Deathwright. And when it does come up in one of our members they almost invariably give up the life of a Deathwright. But as the son of the current scion I am much more tied to the family than most," he replies. "Not to mention that the family represents a significant amount of military power my father can wield as a Sith Lord."
