Xevine was ushered into one of the communicator rooms, where one of the larger inter-planetary holocomms was. She was only told someone wanted to speak to her, but she was dumbfounded, and frankly, barely awake. Who the hell could it be? Dad? Or someone else?

The holo flares to life and before her is Lord Hoshi. She speaks with a strong tone, “I have been watching your progress, Xevine. I find it wanting, but there’s potential. Potential that could be turned into something greater.”

Xevine stood straight and bowed. "My Lord. You honor me." She paused a bit. "I feel the need... the want, to improve. You are right, of course, I'm still far from ready." She straightened herself and looked at the woman in front of her. "There are ways I can improve, that I know of. And I am sure there are ways that I do not know of, but you might."

“I don’t give freely to worms, that is not Sith. You earn such knowledge through action and service,” Lord Hoshi replies.

"Not freely no, but you wouldn't have called me just to tell me I'm a worm who needs to do better." She looked at the blue holograph in the eye....image thingie. "You think I can earn a place as your apprentice. I assume not just because of my family's connections. And I didn't ask free. I ask for one thing, and I will do something in return, to show my skills."

“A Sith has no chains, rules are but illusions that we use against others. Kill another aspirant and bring me proof of the kill. Cut out weakness from the Sith,” she says.

"And we take what is ours." She looked at the woman... this wasn't going to be easy. But it shouldn't. She slowly raised a hand to show a red ilum crystal. "In return, you will teach me how to work this into a saber, and you will make me your apprentice."

"Get me results and we shall see," she says.

The holo ends.

Well.... that was something. Xevine took a sigh, thought for a moment, and opened her communicator, looking for any suitable... applicat.

"Thorne. You there?"

Thorne answers and says, "Do you realize what time it is?"

"Time to wake up." Said the Other Zabrak firmly. "Now that you're awake, I have a proposition."

Her voice is tired as she says, “What do you want?”

"To meet. Who knows who's checking our comms." She gave a moment for the barely awake Zabrak to process it. Now would be a good time, but.... suspicion.

"Later. At the dig site somewhere."

“Why?” she says flatly.

"We're not getting ahead much. Others already have sabers and favors.... time for us to get a leg up. I have an idea on how to do it, but I need you." She said, her tone flat.

“Speak for yourself, I have a hilt and now I have a lightsaber,” she replies.

“You show weakness in your reliance on others.”

"Like a lightsaber makes you a sith... even slaves have them now. I saw it with my own eyes." She snarled into the communicator. "If you want to be good as a slave... you're still lacking."
